These Service Terms describe the practical conditions that normally apply when Securatech performs installation, maintenance, fault finding, support or other technical services. They should be read with the accepted quotation, work order, service agreement and our Terms of Trading.
1. Standard business hours
Our standard business hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Tasmanian public holidays. Work outside these hours is subject to availability and may attract after-hours, overtime, travel or call-out charges where disclosed in the applicable quotation, service agreement or before attendance.
2. Scope of service
The scope of each engagement is the work expressly described in the accepted quotation, work order, service agreement or written instruction accepted by Securatech. Items not expressly included are excluded unless subsequently agreed as a variation.
3. Common exclusions
Unless clearly included in the accepted scope, pricing normally excludes:
- licensed 240V electrical installation, alteration, switchboard work or mains electrical work;
- elevated work platform, scissor lift, boom lift, scaffold or specialised access equipment hire;
- civil works, trenching, excavation, concrete cutting, core drilling, major building works, painting or making good;
- builder, electrician, fire contractor, communications carrier, IT provider or other third-party charges;
- network redesign, internet service, managed IT, firewall changes or client-side server administration unless specifically included;
- hazardous-material identification or removal, including asbestos-related work;
- traffic management, special permits, security escorts, inductions or site-specific access costs not identified before quotation;
- after-hours attendance or standby unless expressly included; and
- replacement of unrelated defective existing equipment discovered during the work.
4. Electrical works
Securatech's electronic security and communications scope does not automatically include fixed 240V electrical work. Where licensed electrical work is required, it must be expressly included in our quotation or separately arranged by the client. Delays caused by incomplete electrical works may affect scheduling and may result in additional attendance charges.
5. Elevated access and specialised plant
Hire and delivery of elevated work platforms, scaffold or other specialised access equipment is excluded unless clearly stated in the accepted quotation. If site conditions reveal that such equipment is reasonably required for safe access, we will advise the client and treat the cost and associated time as a variation unless otherwise agreed.
6. Site access and client obligations
The client must provide safe and timely access to the work area, nominate an authorised site contact, arrange required permits or inductions, disclose known hazards and ensure that other prerequisite works are complete. Waiting time, aborted attendance or repeat visits caused by unavailable access, incomplete prerequisites or incorrect site information may be chargeable.
7. Existing systems and concealed conditions
Service and upgrade work often interfaces with existing cabling, equipment, networks, power supplies and third-party systems. Securatech is not responsible for pre-existing faults, undocumented alterations, hidden damage, defective cabling, obsolete equipment or concealed conditions that could not reasonably be identified before work commenced. Rectification of those conditions may require a variation.
8. Client-supplied and third-party equipment
Where Securatech agrees to install, configure or support client-supplied or third-party equipment, we do not warrant the quality, suitability, compatibility or ongoing availability of that equipment unless expressly stated. Additional time required to diagnose compatibility issues, missing licences, incorrect firmware or incomplete third-party configuration may be chargeable.
9. Networks, internet and cloud services
Many security systems rely on client networks, internet connectivity, cloud services, mobile networks, DNS, firewall rules, time services and third-party platforms. Unless network management is expressly included, the client or its IT provider remains responsible for the stability, security and administration of those services. Securatech is not responsible for outages, changes or performance issues originating in third-party infrastructure outside our control.
10. Fault finding and time-based service
Where a fault cannot be fully diagnosed before attendance, service work may be performed on a time-and-materials basis. Fault finding does not guarantee that every fault can be resolved during the first attendance, particularly where intermittent faults, obsolete equipment, third-party dependencies or access restrictions are involved.
11. Variations
Client-requested changes, additional work, undisclosed conditions, extra attendance, specialist access equipment, after-hours work and rectification outside the quoted scope may be treated as variations. Where practical, material variations will be identified before proceeding.
12. Testing, commissioning and handover
Testing is limited to the systems and functions included in our scope. Unless expressly included, commissioning does not extend to certification or testing of unrelated fire, nurse call, building management, electrical, IT or third-party systems. The client remains responsible for ensuring that any broader statutory or operational testing required for its premises is arranged with the appropriate responsible party.
13. Errors, omissions and supplied information
Quotations, designs and service decisions may rely on drawings, schedules, device lists, network information, site descriptions and instructions supplied by the client or third parties. Securatech is not responsible for errors, omissions, delay or additional cost resulting from information that is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or not reasonably discoverable at the time we perform the work.
Where Securatech identifies an error or omission in its own work, we will assess and address it in accordance with the applicable contract, warranty obligations and law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Security outcomes and system limitations
Electronic security systems are risk-management tools and cannot guarantee that theft, intrusion, damage, loss, cyber events, equipment failure or other incidents will never occur. System performance can be affected by site conditions, user behaviour, power, communications, third-party services, deliberate interference and events outside Securatech's control.
15. Data, configuration and credentials
The client is responsible for maintaining appropriate control of passwords, administrator accounts, access credentials and user permissions once handed over. Unless an ongoing managed service expressly includes backup or retention, the client should maintain copies of important system records, exports and configuration information provided to it.
16. Delays and dependencies
Securatech will use reasonable efforts to meet agreed schedules, but timing may be affected by hardware availability, freight, site access, client approvals, weather, other contractors, network readiness, manufacturer support and events outside our reasonable control. We are not responsible for delay caused by those matters, although we will communicate material impacts where reasonably practicable.
17. Warranty and re-attendance
Warranty obligations are those stated in the accepted quotation, service agreement, manufacturer warranty and applicable law. Warranty does not normally cover misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised alterations, environmental damage, consumables, network or power issues, third-party failures or faults unrelated to Securatech's supplied work. Attendance later found to be outside warranty may be chargeable.
18. Liability and statutory rights
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Securatech is not liable for indirect or consequential loss that is not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach, or loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control. Where the law permits a remedy to be limited, liability may be limited to re-supplying the affected service or paying the reasonable cost of re-supply. Nothing excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
19. Health and safety
Securatech may pause or refuse work where conditions are unsafe, required controls are absent, access is unsuitable, or our personnel would be exposed to an unacceptable risk. Any resulting return visit or changed method of work may require a variation.
20. Payment and trading terms
Invoices, deposits, account terms, overdue amounts, title to goods and other commercial matters are governed by our Terms of Trading and any project-specific written agreement.
21. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Questions about service scope can be sent to info@securatech.com.au.
